American Jennifer Capriati and Serena Williams have both decided to take next week off and miss the WTA Indoor event in Filderstadt, Germany.
World number ten Williams has pulled out to give her knee more time to recover from injury having decided to miss both the Belgian and Korean events this week, following her victory at the inaugural China Open on Sunday.
Ninth-ranked Capriati meanwhile says she is suffering from flu and joins Justine Henin-Hardenne as another high profile name to pull out of the $650,000 tournament.
Italian Silvia Farina Elia and Alicia Molik of Australia are the lucky recipients of the duo's places.
Kim Clijsters should still return to defend her 2003 title after a succesful return to tennis at the Belgian Open in Hasselt.

They're both supposed to play Advanta in Philly too. I wonder if they'll pull from that too. The only other names so far are JenJen, Williams unit, and Kuznetsova. I may have to rethink my trip.
